As scripture tells us, he who desires the position of a pastor desires a good work.  Sensing the call of God to pastor is more than having unusual feelings but knowing uniquely that God is leading you to accept and fulfill the work of a pastor.  Review these questions as you talk with your pastor and other spiritual mentors.  Do you have  assurance of your salvation?  Have you sensed more than a general call to serve but you are sensing a driving call to serve Him as a pastor?   Have you found your prayers and meditation  time being consumed with thoughts of pastoring?  Have others began to question and encourage you to consider pastoring?  Have you found yourself longing more and more to serve Him?  Have you been given opportunities to serve and speak more than what you would consider normal?  If you are answering most of the questions in an affirmative way, carefully and prayerfully talk with your pastor and spiritual mentors.  Also, you may contact your SBCV missionary for additional counsel.
