OPPORTUNITIES ABOUND 

God continues to open doors of opportunity for us to be involved in new and exciting evangelistic outreaches through SBCV Mission Opportunities.  Below is a list of ways You and Your Church can be on Mission in 2008.

State Mission Offering
August :: September 14th
God continues to open many doors of opportunity for ministry within the state of Virginia and your gifts to the SBCV State Missions Offering helps to meet many of those needs.

DC Unwed Mothers/Babies Packs
October :: November 30
God has opened wide the door for SBCV to minister to the growing number of unwed mothers.  Join us by preparing Unwed Mothers/Babies Packs for our church plants to use to reach those neighborhoods.

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
November :: December 14th
Your gifts to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering allow more and more Southern Baptists to serve as missionaries around the world.  One hundred percent of your offering goes directly to support the more than 5,000 missionaries who are working on the field.

In addition to the R&R Soldier Kits (mentioned above), the SBC of Virginia has partnered with the Virginia National Guard with three other strategic initiatives.

First, SBC of Virginia churches hosted a concert series that allowed Guard families and the community to come together and share a night of music and celebration during the Christmas season.  Second, Pastors and Chaplains are being networked to assist in responding with the Virginia National Guard to respond in time of need under a partnership called N.C.E.R.T.- Neighborhood Clergy Emergency Response Team.  And third, SBC of Virgina churches and the funds from the 2007 State Mission Offering will help facilitate Marriage Enrichment Weekends as soldiers return from deployment.

There are over 1,000 Virginia National Guardsmen now on their way or deployed in Iraq and our desire is to let them know that we are their prayer warriors and that they have our support.
