Today, let’s direct our prayers toward Denver, Colorado. That’s where our missionary, Brianna Daniels, serves. Denver looks great as its tall buildings cozy up to tall mountains. But within Denver’s metro population of some three million, many of the residents are needy. That’s why our church supports the Send Relief Ministry Center in the middle of the urban area. It’s a ministry of our North American Mission Board and that’s where Brianna serves.
People living near the center come from more than 50 countries and speak more than 60 languages. There are homeless people, poor people, people with all sorts of needs. The Ministry Center works with churches far and wide, other helping agencies, and teams of volunteers to help meet physical needs. They distribute clothes and food and help people find jobs. Center workers also talk about Jesus.
Brianna helps with that kind of ministry. For example, she led a team that rebuilt the playground of a local school for refugee children. She helped distribute backpacks filled with school supplies to poor kids. She even hands out free burritos to the local homeless. Our church supports both the ministry center and Brianna’s ministry through our Cooperative Program giving. Let’s ask God to bless both of them now.
