Today in our missions prayer time, let’s head to the Caribbean. The island of Puerto Rico has about 3 million people, but not many evangelical churches. That’s why our church is happy to be supporting missionary Cesár Guzmán. Two years ago, he and his wife, Diana, planted On The Rock Baptist Church in the capital city of San Juan, very near the national university. Then they established a center for university students.
The church has been growing. And the student center has been reaching many students. Cesár wanted the student center to be a safe place for students to hang out with other students. He wanted to provide a place without drugs and other temptations that mark the area. Sometimes the center serves meals. But it’s also a place where students can study the Bible and learn about the Christian faith. Already some students have come to faith in Christ and been called to full-time Christian service.
Our church supports Cesár, the church, and the student center through our Cooperative Program giving. Let’s pray that God will keep Cesár strong, grow the church, and enable the center to reach many students for Christ.
