Throw a peach into your iced tea — we’re going to Georgia! In a very prayerful way, of course. We’re going to pray for two of our missionaries, Dustin and Danielle Lee. They have planted a new church in northwest Atlanta. We are happy about that because our church helps support them through the Cooperative Program. They serve near where I-75 crosses the I-285 beltline that circles the city. The Atlanta Braves play baseball nearby. The new City View Church meets for now in a rented space within an upscale shopping and business area.
Dustin and Danielle have begun reaching many of the young, well-educated and upper-income professionals clustered in this area. They look to have the best life has to offer, but many don’t. Many are lonely. They don’t realize it, but they are lonely for the unique fellowship a Bible-based church can offer. They are lonely for God, only reachable through faith in Jesus Christ.
Often when Dustin and Danielle strike up a conversation, they invite the people home to visit with them and their two kids. Many of these guests will attend City View Church later. The church also provides a sports camp for kids in the neighborhood; this has helped reach many young families. One need City View Church has is a more permanent place to meet. Let’s ask God to help them find one. And let’s ask Him to bless and increase the ministry of Dustin and Danielle through the Cooperative Program.
