Let’s go to western Canada today so we can pray for two of our Southern Baptist missionaries. They are James and Jen Cho. Our church supports them through our Cooperative Program giving. James and Jen are serving in Calgary, which is a striking city of skyscrapers standing above the plains. The Rocky Mountains march across the horizon. It’s a modern city of more than a million people — Canada’s third largest. Yet culturally many people here people hang on to the idea of cowboys and western culture.
The Calgary Stampede, the world’s biggest rodeo, is held here. But, like most of Canada, few here follow Christ. Calgary is a mission field. James and Jen are in northwestern Calgary, where they have planted The Vine Church. Both James and Jen are Korean background, so they understand what it’s like to move to a new nation as so many have done in Canada.
Our missionaries have been able to share the gospel with many immigrants and bring them into the church. Growth prospects for The Vine Church look good. Let’s ask God’s blessings on James and Jen, so they can help many come to Christ.
