At the SBCV Annual Homecoming, we emphasized the theme: “The Lord is with You.” As part of this focus, we recently held a pastors’ prayer gathering. In Matthew 26:40, Jesus asked, “Could you not watch with me (in prayer) for one hour?” May we continue to strive together in our prayers and praying for one another. As we approach gathering this Lord’s Day, here are ten Bible verses to pray for the church…
Ten Scriptures to Pray for the Church
- 2 Timothy 4:2 – Pray that the church will preach the Word of God without apology.
- Colossians 4:2 – Pray that the church would devote itself to prayer.
- Acts 4:12 – Pray that the church will boldly share Jesus as the only hope for salvation.
- John 4:24 – Pray that the church will worship God in spirit and in truth.
- 1 Peter 5:2-3 – Pray that our leaders will serve humbly as godly examples to all.
- Colossians 1:28-29 – Pray that the church will labor and strive to present everyone mature in Christ.
- Matthew 9:37-38 – Pray that more workers step up to faithfully serve.
- Ephesians 4:11-12 – Pray that our leaders equip the saints for the work of ministry.
- Revelation 2:4-5 – Pray that the church does not lose its first love.
- Matthew 16:18 – Pray that we will trust Jesus to build His church.
